About Jin Wei

Jin Wei is one of the chinese restaurants listed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The business is registered at 925 Race St, Philadelphia, PA 19107; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Philadelphia; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10 AM–8 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Jin Wei at (215) 238-8855; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 220 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

No where can beat or challenge the price of this place, I enjoyed my meal here

The ONLY place where you can get rice, any four side dishes (including meat) and soup for $8.50 and be able to sit down without paying for a tip. Lots of people here (non-Asians) are confusing this place’s efficiency for rudeness. Let me educate you, as someone who grew up in this culture. You go in, stand on the far end (not on the cashier side), don’t order until you know exactly what you want. Stall for time (say β€œone more minute”) if you need more time. Then when the counter staff asks you for your order, you go: rice, then point to all your four dishes, then accept the soup. The typical style is to order a meat dish (chicken/beef), 1-2 other dishes (egg/tofu), and 1-2 veg dishes. You can ask which dish is chicken or beef, and that’s really it. If you have questions about what type of seasoning is in the chicken or what’s in the soup, then you should just eat at home and not come out. Staff here are focused on Chinese efficiency: they are charging low prices so they are maximizing for order volume. You’re not special. Order, grab your dish, and get out of their way. Don’t bother with the small talk unless you speak Chinese. The value here is absolutely insane and I will

I came here with my girlfriend for a quick bite after running around all day since we did not have time to go home and cook. This spot is great for grab and go, with quite a few options to choose from. You can pick three items, along with rice or fried noodles, and it also comes with the soup of the day. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 3/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant feels pretty outdated and nothing really stands out. There are a few tables if you want to eat there, but most people seem to grab their food and head out. Service - The staff working the line is friendly for the most part. You should not expect five star service, but it is perfectly fine for what this place is. What We Ordered - We ended up ordering two rice dishes with eggplant, Chinese cabbage, roasted chicken, fried fish, lemon chicken, and their version of mapo tofu. The soup of the day was pork and vegetable soup. The food was good enough to satisfy our hunger, and for the price and amount of food you get, it is hard to beat. It is also worth noting that they serve different dishes each day. Final Thoughts - I would come here again if we need a place with plent

Great food flavor, great price, some vegetarian options (pictured) The one star reviews…they are not rude employees. They are just running their business and don’t have time to chat. Just point at what you want, you get 4 options + soup. Their goal is to serve you food and move the line!

Imagine $7.50 for a full platter of food filled with 3-4 entrees of your choice with 2 sides. AND IT COMES WITH SOUP TOO. Jinwei is the place to go when you need to go somewhere but want to grab a quick and affordable meal and it’s tasty too! Its cash only which is basically the only down side but I would definitely come here often to try out all their other selections!
